Monday – Black sand and horses

Eric enjoying a black sand beach, west side, Kona.

The plan was to go horseback riding Monday morning, but sudden dry-season rain had us changing plans.

So we went to the beach instead.

We returned to the ranch Monday evening for better riding conditions.

The unseasonal morning rain left the sky overcast.

When life gives you rain, make rainbows!

We could follow this rainbow right down to a stream.

There was no pot of gold.

That’s our guide up ahead.

These raised mounds are tumuli caused by lava flows beneath the surface.

Double rainbow. What does it mean?

The moon came out as we ended our ride.

Later that night…a big snail.
