The chips were in, so I did likely the easiest and most impactful upgrades I can do to this machine. The unofficial code from the great Chad Hendrickson addresses some balance issues with the original scoring. And the NVRAM allows settings and high scores to be saved without batteries, and without the risk of leaking battery acid.

The smart phone/digital camera might be the most important tool for the home pinballer. At first I put the CPU in the wrong socket, but had the ‘before’ picture and was smart enough to use it!
